Sattel - Integration Saves Time & Money
LogicalTech SysTalk analysed the client’s needs before designing and building a framework to enable quick and easy integration of all sites. Sattel have surpassed their competitors with LogicalTech’s innovative solution for implementing container systems.
Project Overview
Industry
Telemetry Communications Provider
Company Profile
Satellite Telemetry (Aust) Pty Ltd (Sattel) provides telemetry technology and systems integrations for the transportation and logistics sector. Specialties include marine container and cargo terminals.
Business Situation
Sattel has systems in 17 major container terminals around the world, including the world’s largest port in Pusan, Korea. Systems integration was needed, but it required specialist knowledge and expertise, which Sattel didn’t have in-house.
Solution
LogicalTech SysTalk analysed the client’s needs before designing and building a framework to enable quick and easy integration of all sites.
Benefits
Sattel have surpassed their competitors with LogicalTech’s innovative solution for implementing container systems.
The Assignment
Sattel’s expansion to many of the world’s biggest terminals has presented the company with the challenge of integrating varied systems.. Complicating factors included incompatible protocols and transport methods. After realizing the complexity and scope of such a systems integration, Sattel engaged LogicalTech to provide a solution.
The LogicalTech Approach
The LogicalTech SysTalk team first analysed the existing systems and integration issues. They then designed and built an integration framework that could be efficiently implemented at each Sattel site. A critical element was the ability of the framework to provide high availability and throughput. The solution is based on Microsoft.Net and uses XSLT to transform data between systems. It is being deployed to integrate the Sattel sites in stages. Results have been positive, with the Pusan system now processing more than 200,000 messages per day.
The Value of the Solution
Using the LogicalTech integration framework has enabled Sattel to implement container systems in a far more dynamic way than their competitors. As a result the company is winning more contracts and achieving a higher return on investment.
With site integration being completed in days rather than weeks, Sattel can concentrate on their core business of vehicle telemetry technology rather than the problems of local systems.
