The Assignment

Moorabool Shire Council needed to update their standard operating environment, including all desktops. Key requirements of the project were to create a standard view for users and to increase the efficiency of resolving IT issues and installing new computers. LogicalTech has long been trusted IT service provider for the Council, successfully completing numerous projects. The Council asked LogicalTech to design, manage and deploy the Desktop SOE across more than 200 items.   This was the third time LogicalTech had been involved in projects of this nature for Moorabool Shire Council.

 

The LogicalTech Approach

The first stage of the project was an analysis of Moorabool Shire Council’s requirements and their current environment in order to create a required Proof of Concept.  The Proof of Concept enabled LogicalTech to liaise with Moorabool Shire Council, using a consultative approach to find the best overall design of the Desktop SOE.  LogicalTech’s experience in networking, infrastructure management, application integration and operating environments was key to the successful design.   

The deployment stage of the project incorporated the Moorabool Shire Council’s IT staff. This ensured that the end result would provide maximum benefits for the users.  The solution incorporated the ability to update, secure and centrally manage all Desktops within the organisation.  The smooth process of the deployment of the Desktop SOE was due to LogicalTech’s proven experience and excellent project management skills.

 

 

The Value of the Solution

    Involving the Council’s IT department during the deployment stage meant the department was able to better manage the Council’s desktops.  The LogicalTech solution also added value by reducing the time needed to install new computers and reducing the time taken to resolve issues with existing computers.   

    Moorabool Shire Council was extremely happy with the project outcome as well as LogicalTech’s quality service and expert recommendations.
