Business Situation Due to increased demand on eNett’s main application, the company needed more flexibility in processing security and expansion.

The Assignment

eNett was using a two-year old software system which was designed to underpin the specific business of providing financial services processing to the travel industry. The software was developed offshore to specification and clients began using the system. However, the Company Board soon became concerned about the robustness, security and expansion potential of this Microsoft .Net solution, which was based on SQL Server.  The company wanted to modify the system to improve functionality and connectivity to other industry web-based systems. The company also wanted more flexibility for servicing new clients. Early quotes were high and involved significant delays that would restrict business growth.

LogicalTech accepted the challenge to develop a solution within eNett’s budget and timeframe.

 

The LogicalTech Approach

LogicalTech was requested to provide an architecture review of the software and advise the client on future IT strategy.. Existing documentation was minimal and client business support specialists were brought in to clarify the existing and needed functionality. Subsequently the LogicalTech msXpress team (specialising in Microsoft .Net development) redesigned this . application and increased the processing security. The new design was more modular than previously, with enough flexibility for future expansion..

Over a six-month period LogicalTech worked with eNett and the incumbent software house to radically improve the database design. The number of database tables was reduced from over 80 to less than 30. Major changes that LogicalTech competitors estimated would require at least 200 days were implemented by LogicalTech in less than 50 days. Web services were built to allow integrations to external systems. In contrast to the six weeks estimated by other contractors, LogicalTech completed this phase within several days.

 

 

The Value of the Solution

    Global partners of eNett asked their IT groups to review the.Net solution. This was completed quickly and the LogicalTech solution was successfully adopted. The system, which meets ISO9001:2000 quality standards, is satisfying the client’s need for enough flexibility to handle future expansion and increased security for financial transactions. LogicalTech was able to save time and money for eNett without compromising on quality. Since implementing LogicalTech’s solution, eNett has used its capacity for rapid integrations and increased processing to build business with new global clients.
